You can join online via the sign-up page, in-clinic at reception, or at your next appointment. The sign-up takes a few minutes — you review your details, agree to the terms, and set up the Direct Debit through GoCardless. New patients are welcome to join before or at their first consultation.

Yes. If you join Smile Club on or before your first consultation, the £120 fee is credited against your membership. On the Annual plan it comes straight off your upfront payment (e.g. Essentials Annual becomes £130 instead of £250). On the Monthly plan it covers your first five months of Direct Debits, after which normal monthly payments begin.

Yes. When you set up your Direct Debit you can pick a preferred billing day between the 1st and 28th of the month — whichever works best with your salary or other commitments. For Annual memberships, your renewal is scheduled one year from the date you join, and GoCardless sends you an automatic reminder a few days before the next payment is taken.

Monthly members can cancel at any time with 30 days' written notice — you keep access to all member benefits until the end of your paid period. Annual members are committed for the full 12-month term and the annual payment is non-refundable, but you can choose not to renew before your next annual payment is due. GoCardless will attempt to retry the payment automatically. If three consecutive attempts fail, your membership is paused and you lose access to members-only benefits until the balance is cleared. We'll be in touch by phone and email before that happens to sort things out — we'd much rather help you update a card or switch to a different payment method than suspend the membership.

Upgrades happen immediately — the new rate applies from your next Direct Debit, and any new benefits kick in right away. Downgrades take effect on your next renewal (monthly or annual). Pauses are considered case-by-case — get in touch with reception and we'll work something out (e.g. for extended travel or illness).

Annual is slightly cheaper — you save around 10% compared to paying monthly for a year. It's one upfront payment that covers you for 12 months. Monthly is a flexible Direct Debit with no long-term commitment (30-day cancellation notice). Both plans give you identical benefits — the choice is purely about how you like to budget.

No. Anele Dental is registered with the CQC to treat adults aged 18 and over only, so we can't offer Smile Club (or any of our services) to children or teenagers. If you're looking for a family dentist for younger members of your household, please search for a registered paediatric or family dental practice in the area. Smile Plus and Elite members do receive a 50% discount on the New Patient Consultation fee for each adult family member (18+) they refer.

No minimum for Monthly — cancel any time with 30 days' notice. For Annual, you're committed to the 12-month term in exchange for the lower rate, after which you can choose to renew, switch to monthly, or end your membership.

Let us know and we'll either transfer your records if you're moving within our catchment, or cancel your plan cleanly if you're leaving. Membership is with Anele Dental specifically — it can't be transferred to a different practice.
